1. (послать) кого-что на фиг [usu. Interj or adv]

⇒ used to express anger, a desire to get rid (or rid o.s.) of s.o. or sth.:

- to <the> hell with you <him etc>;

- (tell s.o. to) go to hell.

     ♦ "...Город тоже мне... Не Москва. Может, кому он и нравится, мне лично не то чтобы очень. Ну его на фиг!" (Аксёнов 5). "...Some town, I must say. ...It's no Moscow. There may be those who like it, but they can have it as far as I'm concerned. To hell with it!" (5a).

2. на фиг (нужно, сдалось кому и т.п.) [adv (neg intensif)]

⇒ used (often in a rhetorical question) to express one's contempt for sth. and one's opinion that it is absolutely useless, not needed by one or s.o. etc:

- what the hell do I <does he etc> want <need> with it <that etc>?;

- what the hell do I <does he etc> need it <that etc> for!;

- who (the hell) needs it (them etc)!;

- [in limited contexts] s.o. can take his [NP] and go to hell.

     ♦ "Я принёс тебе ежа". - "На фиг мне ёж?" "I've brought you a hedgehog." "What the hell do I want with a hedgehog?"

     ♦ Обманула, а теперь сочувствует? На фиг мне нужно её сочувствие! First she deceives me and now she says she feels for me? She can take her sympathy and go to hell!
